Overview

In this role you will collaborate with policymakers and economics experts worldwide to shape policy strategies that drive economic competitiveness, enable infrastructure growth, support AI development, and address workforce and education issues. You will work with Google's economics team and regional partners to develop compelling economic arguments, reports, and narratives addressing technology and innovation. You will assess Google's economic impact for policymakers and articulate how products, investments, and infrastructure support growth and opportunity. You will analyze AI's effects on labor and education and help set strategies for governments and the private sector to ensure benefits

Responsibilities
  • Develop policy strategies with policymakers and economists globally to address technology and innovation issues
  • Partner with Google's economics team and regional teams to craft economic arguments, reports, and narratives
  • Assess and articulate Google's economic impact for policymakers, highlighting product investments and infrastructure benefits
  • Analyze AI's impact on labor and education and develop cross-sector policy strategies
  • Advocate for Google externally, informing company direction with public perspectives
  • Engage with government stakeholders, listen to diverse views, and distill company positions for external audiences
  • Identify key policy issues and communicate them to internal teams and external parties
  • Coordinate campaigns and initiatives across regions, product areas, and functions
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience on economic issues related to technology with frequent policymaker interactions
  • Experience in economics and technology policy
  • Ability to gather insights and communicate complex policy issues to policymakers and general audiences
  • Collaborative, diplomatic, and partnership-building mindset
  • Ability to work with international teams and execute strategic policy solutions
  • Strong ability to distill and share perspectives externally
