Overview In this role you facilitate admissions, intake assessments, and utilization review to ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care. You will work with medical and psychiatric teams to coordinate transfers and ensure timely pre-authorization and documentation. The position emphasizes patient safety, empathetic communication, and responsive service to patients and families. Responsibilities- Respond to inquiries within facility policy timeframes
- Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
- Perform benefit eligibility checks and communicate results
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric staff on referrals
- Coordinate admissions and intra-facility transfers
- Prepare and maintain medical records to support authorization
- Conduct pre-admission assessments and coordinate with admitting physician
- Complete admission forms and ensure patient consent documentation
- Maintain patient safety through regular checks and appropriate supervision
- Coordinate post-discharge follow-up for non-admitted patients
Key requirements- Bachelor in Social Services (required)
- Master in Social Services or RN (preferred)
- 1+ years in mental/behavioral health/clinical setting (preferred)
- Current licensure as designated by state (preferred)
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (required)
- First aid may be preferred by state/facility
