Overview

In this role you will lead workers' compensation and employee relations activities for a dynamic operation in Long Beach. You'll balance day-to-day HR support with risk awareness, ensuring compliant, confidential handling of sensitive cases and accurate documentation. You will coordinate claims, return-to-work, and benefits while partnering with stakeholders to drive compliant, efficient processes. This position offers impact by reducing claim severity and supporting safe, productive outcomes aligned with company policy and state regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Guide managers and employees through workplace concerns, resolving issues in line with policy and standards
  • Oversee daily HR administrative activities and maintain accurate personnel records and HR data
  • Administer employee benefits, handling inquiries and processing updates
  • Manage California workers' compensation claims from incident reporting to follow-up and documentation
  • Coordinate return-to-work and modified duty with leadership and employees
  • Identify HR compliance concerns and support corrective actions
  • Prepare and maintain confidential claim files and sensitive records
  • Review injury claims and ensure timely reporting and state compliance
  • Act as liaison between employees, management, claims administrators, medical providers, and nurse case managers
  • Monitor investigations, treatment plans, disability benefits, and resolution strategies
  • Analyze metrics, report trends, and suggest program improvements to control costs
  • Collaborate with HR, Risk Management, Safety, Legal, Payroll, and Operations on complex or high-exposure claims
