Overview In this Senior Accountant role, you contribute to GAAP financial reporting and a timely close within a fast-growing, private equity-backed government contractor. You will support leadership on revenue recognition for government contracts and ensure compliance with FAR/CAS, while optimizing cost accounting practices. The position involves leading month-end and year-end closings, preparing financial statements, and driving process improvements. Responsibilities- Perform general ledger reconciliations and month-end close journal entries to ensure GAAP compliance
- Assist leadership with contract revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts for timely financial closings
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals
- Monitor and ensure accurate revenue recognition based on government contract terms and accounting standards (FAR and CAS)
- Apply and oversee indirect cost rates in line with provisional billing rates and incurred cost submissions
- Assist in preparing incurred cost submissions and year-end audit workpapers
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, internal controls, and organizational policies
- Collaborate on developing and implementing new financial processes to enhance efficiency
- Perform special projects as required by leadership
