Position Summary

We are seeking a professional, friendly, and organized Pharmacy Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers. The primary responsibility of this role is to answer incoming phone calls, accurately document caller information and requests, and route messages to the appropriate pharmacy technician or pharmacist when necessary. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Gather and document accurate information from callers, including patient details, contact information, and reason for the call.
  • Relay messages and requests to pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, or other appropriate staff members.
  • Assist with directing calls to the appropriate department or team member.
  • Maintain organized records of phone messages and communications.
  • Monitor and respond to general inquiries regarding pharmacy services.
  • Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy policies.
  • Support the pharmacy team in ensuring efficient workflow and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous receptionist, customer service, call center, medical office, or pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Ability to accurately document information and follow instructions.
  • Proficiency with computers, email, and basic office software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a pharmacy, medical office, or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
