We are looking for a friendly, organized, and professional Dental Office Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our dental practice. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has excellent communication skills, and can confidently manage a busy front office while providing exceptional patient service.
Our receptionist plays an important role in creating a positive patient experience-from the first phone call and check-in to scheduling appointments and coordinating follow-up care.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Check patients in and out and maintain accurate patient information.
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist with insurance-related questions.
- Collect patient payments, copays, and balances.
- Provide treatment estimates and explain basic billing information when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
- Coordinate referrals, records, and communication with specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointments, treatment, and office policies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor the daily schedule and communicate with the dental team to help keep the office running smoothly.
- Assist with general administrative and office duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and professional reception area.
Qualifications
- Previous dental front-office experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable using computers and dental practice management software.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Professional appearance and a warm, positive attitude.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance, and dental billing is a plus.
