Overview As Tamaqua Process Scale Up Manager you will lead the Hometown Scale-Up team focused on semiconductor-grade chemical processes, guiding the full development lifecycle from concept to production readiness. You'll drive cross-functional collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, and global stakeholders to de-risk and scale processes. The role blends hands-on engineering leadership with data-driven decision making to optimize productivity, quality, and cost. Responsibilities- Line management for safety, quality, and compliance across the team
- Define and drive technology and process development strategy for semiconductor chemical processes
- Lead risk assessments, scoping, and feasibility studies with go/no-go criteria
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps, risk registers, and stage-gate plans
- Own scale-up activities from lab to pilot and full production scale; de-risk processes for manufacturing readiness
- Lead technology transfer to production sites, including process validation and QA/QC integration
- Collaborate with global process development to identify new technologies for current/future projects
- Coordinate with equipment engineering on process equipment design and automation solutions
- Champion engineering simulation and modeling (CFD, reaction kinetics, DOE) for design decisions
- Drive post-launch optimization for productivity, yield, and COGS reduction
- Ensure regulatory, quality, EHS, and safety standards across CPD activities
- Manage capital projects on time and budget; interface with US and Asia stakeholders
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across time zones and cultures for timely decisions
- Establish partnerships with regional manufacturing sites and transfer engineers
- Participate in global steering committees and program reviews
- Develop a learning organization and nurture talent within the PDP department
Key requirements- B.S. in Chemical Engineering or closely related field
- 8 years of experience in chemical process development or related fields; semiconductor or specialty chemicals background preferred
- Experience in process development, scale-up, and technology transfer from lab to production
- Hands-on experience with pilot plants, reactors, separations, and downstream processing for semiconductor or specialty chemical manufacturing
- Strong background in engineering simulation and optimization (CFD, reaction kinetics, process modeling, DOE)
- Strong stakeholder management in matrixed organizations
- Experience navigating regulatory, safety, and quality expectations across US and Asian manufacturing environments
- Fluency in English; German/Asian languages a plus
