Overview

In this role you drive the successful delivery and profitability of assigned projects. You will lead planning, budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and staffing, coordinating across estimating, operations, and business development. You ensure contracts, subcontracts, and procurement align with company standards while maintaining cash flow and timely progress reports. The position emphasizes leadership, risk management, and client engagement to support sustainable project outcomes and company growth.

Responsibilities
  • Review estimates and schedules for negotiated and hard bid projects
  • Facilitate turnover from estimating to project team and sign off on budget and fee
  • Oversee subcontract bidding and negotiations; approve subcontracts and major POs
  • Review contract terms and assist in negotiations; prepare recap of contract highlights
  • Lead project planning, start meetings, and scheduling baselines with monthly updates
  • Maintain cost control per company standards and supervise project mobilization
  • Recruit, train, and supervise construction personnel; ensure safety and quality compliance
  • Provide status updates and ensure accurate management reports; enforce risk policies
  • Maintain cash flow and timely progress payments; ensure closeout and closed reports
  • Maintain client contact and support business development in relationships
  • Prepare and assist in proposal materials; participate in presentations
  • Monitor bottom line profit and assist in non-operating responsibilities as required
Key requirements
  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
  • Field construction management experience (10 years) including supervisory skills
  • Leadership ability; strong problem-solving and sense of urgency
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Drafting and computer skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
  • Thorough understanding of scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating systems
