Overview In this role you will research federal, multi-state and local fuels tax issues, perform data gathering and calculations to prepare refund claims, and communicate findings to management and clients. You will work with data in Access and Excel, supporting refunds and audits while collaborating with a team. Responsibilities- Research and analyze federal, multi-state and local fuels tax issues and summarize results for management
- Gather, enter, and prepare fuels tax refund claims
- Process data from Microsoft Access and Excel to support refund claims
- Pull invoices and support documentation for refunds
- Communicate analysis and results to clients and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to a positive team environment and perform duties as assigned
- Interact with clients and external vendors; travel up to 10-20%
- Maintain professional communication via email and phone
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; advanced degree or JD preferred
- 9 accounting hours minimum or substitute technical courses with GPA >= 3.0 and Major GPA >= 3.25
- 1-3 years of related accounting and auditing experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook; strong research skills
- Valid driver's license
