Overview In this role you lead and execute Environmental Health and Safety programs with a focus on fire protection, ensuring Life Safety Code compliance for new and existing facilities. You will assess conditions, report findings, and apply NFPA knowledge to resolve issues, while maintaining fire protection systems and training programs. Collaboration with EHS teams and regulators strengthens overall facility safety. The position offers growth in NFPA applications and safety leadership within a hospital environment.
Responsibilities- Support work process leaders and teams
- Deliver programmatic customer service and ensure deliverables
- Produce reports for leadership and committees
- Conduct audits/inspections and provide risk-reduction recommendations
- Review and monitor safety processes
- Develop and teach EHS training programs
- Assist with regulatory inspections and customer consultations
- Establish procedures ensuring regulatory and UTMB policy compliance
- Respond to hazardous materials releases within scope of training
- Maintain consistent safety procedures and internal controls
- Perform related duties as required
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in environmental, natural, or applied science, or related field
- 1 year of related experience
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to operate a UTMB vehicle
