Overview In this role you will drive the design, development, integration, and release of diesel engine systems and components to meet performance, cost, weight, quality, and durability targets. You will work within a cross functional team, guiding program milestones and supplier collaborations to ensure successful launches. The position spans concept through production sign off, offering impact on powertrain technology and product quality. Responsibilities- Lead design, development, integration, validation, release, and launch of diesel engine systems and components to meet targets
- Drive product development activities including concept definition, system architecture, and technology planning
- Translate requirements into targets, specifications, drawings, and deliverables; manage changes and configuration control
- Act as CPMT Lead, coordinating cross functional teams and achieving program milestones
- Coordinate verification testing and analysis to ensure regulatory, performance, and durability compliance
- Lead cross functional integration with calibration, manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers, and vehicle teams
- Interface with engine plants, vehicle assembly plants, and suppliers to support launch readiness
- Lead issue resolution and continuous improvement using structured problem solving
- Develop and maintain DFMEA, PPAP, control plans, and launch readiness deliverables
- Provide on site manufacturing and supplier support as needed
- Support strategic initiatives and future product planning across powertrain engineering
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence and present to leadership
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and manage complex supplier relationships
- Strong program management and execution skills to balance performance, timing, and cost targets
- Understanding of product check in/check out processes, version control, data release, and change management in Ford's PLM ecosystem
