Overview

In this role you will manage day-to-day accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. You will work with a small accounting team to support month-end close, reconciliations, and audits while partnering with cross-functional groups. The position emphasizes payroll compliance across entities, data integrity, and safeguarding financial integrity in a construction environment. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations for cash, AR, AP, and other balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Ensure timely month-end close and maintain related documentation
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis with reconciliations and variance explanations
  • Oversee weekly, monthly, and quarterly GL and employee benefits reconciliations
  • Develop and maintain audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Oversee payroll tax reconciliation, reporting, and payments across multiple employers and states
  • Ensure accurate annual W2 reconciliation and filing
  • Maintain data integrity within the accounting system and enforce proper controls
  • Lead special projects and respond to ad-hoc requests
  • Supervise Payroll Supervisor, Accounts Payable Manager, and Staff Accountant; hire and develop staff
  • Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation
Key requirements
  • 4-year Business/Accounting degree; advanced degree or CPA preferred
  • 10 years of experience in construction accounting or equivalent
  • Knowledge of construction accounting, auditing, payroll, AP, and AR
  • Proficiency with ERP software (COINS preferred)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Office 365
  • Strong management, supervisory, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions and multi-task; enforce segregation of duties
