Overview In this role you will support the Army IFMC SoS program as a Software Safety Engineer, ensuring robust safety policies are implemented across software life cycles. You will align with safety authorities and drive end-to-end traceability, hazard analyses, and compliance with government standards. The position blends collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced Agile environment to advance system safety and risk reduction. Responsibilities- Coordinate with AMCOM Safety for data delivery to SSSTRP reviews
- Liaise with ATEC to provide safety updates, host audits, and resolve issues for Safety Releases/Confirmations
- Incorporate safety requirements across software life cycle (design, code, test) with end-to-end traceability for formal verification
- Ensure safety-significant functionality complies with AMCOM 385-17, MIL-STD 882 and related standards
- Capture hazards in a Hazard Tracking System with contributors, mitigations and risk codes
- Perform functional hazard analyses by assigning safety attributes to safety-significant functions within a large system in an Agile environment
- Track, prioritize, and resolve safety-related trouble reports
- Provide safety program updates to senior management and contribute to technical reviews, briefings, and test events
Key requirements- Bachelor
- Five years of relevant experience; four years in lieu of a degree
- Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
