Overview In this role you will manage a portfolio of complex middle-market commercial loans, ensuring underwriting quality and proactive risk monitoring. You will collaborate with Relationship Management, Credit Administration, Capital Markets, Treasury Management, and other product teams to optimize client relationships. You will oversee portfolio administration, including delinquencies, collateral issues, covenants, and product renewals, while staying current on market trends. You will also train and mentor junior colleagues and contribute to credit documentation reviews, making a meaningful impact on risk and growth. Responsibilities- Underwrite complex commercial loans in line with Huntington credit policies
- Monitor loan portfolio to identify emerging risks and maintain accurate risk ratings
- Manage portfolio administration (delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base, covenants, renewals)
- Attend client calls with Relationship Management and bank partners as needed
- Stay informed on market/industry trends and conduct research
- Assist with training and mentoring Analyst & Associate level colleagues
- Review and negotiate credit documentation with legal counsel
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- 5+ years of underwriting experience in a commercial banking environment
- Bachelor in Finance
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Formal credit training
- Experience in the syndicated loan market
