Overview

In this role you will drive indirect procurement for SpaceX's Hawthorne production programs, focusing on machinery and equipment, services, and related assets. You will build and manage a strong supplier base, lead cost-saving initiatives, and monitor supplier performance through KPIs. You'll collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure timely delivery, compliance, and alignment with contract terms. Responsibilities
  • Identify and lead projects from planning to completion with stakeholder coordination
  • Use negotiations to maximize value and reduce risk
  • Establish preferred suppliers and onboard new ones to meet needs
  • Manage bidding procedures and RFPs for supplier base
  • Create programs to monitor supplier performance and KPIs (delivery, terms, cost savings)
  • Maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships to ensure timely services and materials
  • Source production machinery and equipment for Hawthorne programs (cranes, calibration equipment, maintenance, commissioning, decommissioning, moves)
  • Oversee rental equipment, storage suppliers, and asset resale; support Long Beach and Vandenberg equipment needs
  • Benchmark performance metrics and sourcing trends against budget on a monthly basis
  • Assist in drafting contracts with Legal and manage contract obligations and interpretation
Key requirements
  • Advanced degree; or bachelor's degree and 2+ years of purchasing/contract negotiation/operations or supply chain; or 6+ years of experience in these areas
  • 3+ years of procurement experience with indirect categories (machinery and equipment, capital equipment, MRO, calibration, facilities, services)
  • Effective written and verbal communication across all levels
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities
  • Remarkable problem solving and prioritization
  • Data analysis using Excel, SQL, and PowerBI
  • Procurement and contract management
  • Negotiation and supplier management
