VP, Enterprise Back-End Revenue Cycle Center of Excellence

Overview

In this role you lead the design, stand-up, and operation of a Center of Excellence for revenue cycle across multiple clients. You drive enterprise standards, transition planning, and the technology and analytics agenda to improve cash flow and reduce denials. You partner with product, engineering, and client leadership to translate operational design into measurable financial outcomes. You will shape a multi-payer, global delivery model that sustains performance while scaling transformation at pace.

Responsibilities
  • Define and publish enterprise operating model, decision rights, and standard governance across clients
  • Lead multi-client transitions from client-dedicated delivery to COE, coordinating readiness and transformation
  • Own cash, denial, and inventory performance with standardized processes and scorecards
  • Drive clean claim performance, upstream corrections, and root-cause analysis to reduce denials
  • Design and govern back-end technology path, automation, and AI enablement, aligning roadmaps with COE priorities
  • Govern global delivery footprint, vendor strategy, and workforce transition with cross-functional partners
  • Engage with health system CFOs and executives, translating design into financial outcomes and managing scope
  • Maintain risk, compliance, controls, and audit readiness across cash handling and refunds
Key requirements
  • 15+ years revenue cycle leadership with deep A/R, denials, underpayments, and cash management
  • 10+ years leading large, matrixed organizations across domestic and global delivery
  • Track record managing a multi-hundred-million A/R portfolio with cash and denial outcomes
  • Deep knowledge of CARC/RARC denial management, payer contract mechanics, and billing edits
  • Experience translating Epic and legacy systems (e.g., eFR, Invision, STAR) into scalable ops and automation
  • Experience in multi-client outsourced or managed services environments with SLA exposure
  • Executive presence with CFOs and ability to manage difficult performance conversations
  • Ability to build data/KPI frameworks to drive sustained improvement
