Overview As a Principal Design Manager, you will lead a design-focused team within Arcadis' Resilience Water Group, guiding water, wastewater and reclaimed water projects in West Florida. You'll work with Area Leaders, Project Managers and technical experts to win work and deliver client outcomes with excellence. The role combines delivery leadership with business growth through proposals and key market initiatives. You'll shape municipal water projects, foster client relationships, and ensure quality, safety, and compliance across complex conveyance and treatment systems. Responsibilities- Provide leadership and technical direction to develop design team capabilities in collaboration with national practices
- Lead design tasks for water, wastewater and reclaimed water facilities, including conveyance systems, drawings, specifications, and permit applications, plus construction oversight
- Prepare engineering calculations and analyses using design software to solve complex issues
- Manage scope, schedules, and budgets for assignments
- Collaborate with project managers and clients on proposals, task orders, and interviews to win projects
- Strengthen client relationships through professionalism and technical expertise
- Oversee QA/QC of water/wastewater treatment and reuse projects and ensure contract compliance
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and drafters
- Ensure adherence to Arcadis quality and safety standards
- Travel up to 20% for meetings, events, and growth activities
Key requirements- 18 years of experience in client service, design management, and project management in water/wastewater/stormwater/resilience/solid waste
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, or related field
- Florida P.E. license or ability to obtain within 6 months
