Overview In this role, you will lead the architectural design of electrical subsystems for our accelerator, shaping power, high-voltage, vacuum, and control layouts within a mission-driven fusion energy program. You will enforce electrical safety standards aligned with IEC 60601 and FDA regulations, and guide a engineering group toward delivering medical-technology-focused projects on time and within quality targets. You will solve complex electrical challenges in collaboration with cross-functional teams, driving impactful solutions in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities- Lead architectural design of electrical subsystems for the accelerator (power supplies, high voltage, vacuum, control layouts)
- Define and enforce electrical safety standards compliant with IEC 60601 and FDA regulations
- Manage engineering group in medical-technology programs and long-term objectives
- Identify engineering challenges and guide complex design phases with cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Provide direction and task assignments to meet budget, schedule, and quality
- Monitor and evaluate task and project completion
- Select, evaluate, and develop personnel to achieve engineering goals
Key requirements- B.S. in Electrical Engineering (required)
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic and control systems in large industrial/scientific/medical projects
- Experience in design, specification, installation, and commissioning of complex electrical/electronic systems
- Experience with high voltage/current systems, safety clearances, and SIL evaluation
- Grounding and shielding experience in EMI-sensitive environments
- Experience with QA standards for utility, nuclear, or medical facilities
- 3-5 years of relevant project engineer or management experience
- Experience with large R&D projects in fusion, fission, or large-scale medical devices
- Experience in regulated environments (ISO 13485, FDA QSR)
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with budgets and deadlines
- Experience with PLM solutions (e.g., PTC Arena)
- Solidworks Electrical, Altium, AutoCAD or similar is a plus
- MS Office, Project, Jira, Confluence or similar PM tools
- Good verbal and communication skills; strong leadership; attention to detail; ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Experience with CAD software for electrical schematics; knowledge of PLCs and NI hardware; LabVIEW a plus
