Overview In this role you will help drive materials strategy and sourcing for semiconductor manufacturing. You will work with cross-functional teams to align engineering and procurement needs with suppliers, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery objectives. The position supports new product development and transition plans, with a focus on reducing risk and optimizing landed costs. Responsibilities- Forecast engineering, materials, and manufacturing needs to suppliers and inform outsourcing decisions through make vs. buy analysis
- Coordinate demand signals via MRP to minimize inventory exposure
- Lead Materials Core Team and manage product development deliverables with buyers, planners, and production control
- Collaborate with engineering to interpret requirements and develop new materials strategies
- Create, release, and update project materials strategy with limited supervision
- Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations; participate in contract negotiations as needed
- Use preferred supplier selection and assessment processes; complete supplier risk assessments for critical parts
- Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality, and cost
- Coordinate source selection, specification creation, and price negotiation for materials
- Execute commercialization/transition materials plans and manage materials change control
- Meet cost objectives and resolve quality issues; publish Key Process Indicators; track landed cost targets
- Identify critical and long-lead parts with engineering and coordinate inspection requirements
- Develop supplier and commodity roadmaps in collaboration with engineering; apply value analysis to build-to-print components
- Mediates and partners with quality and engineering to resolve supplier quality issues; escalate to Commodity Business Managers as needed
