Manager, Lateral Partner Recruiting

Overview

In this role you drive the full lifecycle of lateral partner and counsel recruiting across multiple offices, collaborating with firm leadership to identify and integrate top legal talent. You will balance strategic sourcing, candidate evaluation, and onboarding to support the firm's growth and partnership goals. You'll work with cross functional teams and leverage data and technology to enhance recruiting workflows and candidate experience. This position offers a chance to shape talent strategy in a leading law firm, with exposure to high impact, cross office initiatives and innovative tools.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of lateral partner and counsel recruiting across offices, departments, and administrative teams
  • Conduct market and competitive intelligence, build target candidate lists, and execute proactive search strategies including direct sourcing and market mapping
  • Collaborate with Director and recruiting team to maintain relationships with legal search firms and external recruiters
  • Oversee candidate interviews: scheduling, interviewer slates, materials, and feedback synthesis
  • Coordinate due diligence in recruiting: conflicts, background reviews, and collection of materials
  • Prepare and maintain recruiting pipeline reports, candidate tracking materials, and leadership level evaluations
  • Support integration and onboarding of lateral partners and counsel with administrative departments and leadership
  • Assist with recruiting presentations, marketing materials, and profile raising initiatives related to growth
  • Identify opportunities to enhance recruiting operations using technology, data analytics, and AI tools
  • Manage special projects and other related duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum)
  • Seven+ years in recruiting or talent acquisition, preferably in law, legal recruiting agency, or professional services
  • Strong understanding of legal recruiting processes and law firm partnership structures (preferred)
  • Experience managing complex, fast-paced processes in a client service environment
  • Ability to build credibility with firm leadership and maintain discretion with confidential matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems (e.g., viDesktop); familiarity with data/reporting tools or AI capabilities preferred
