Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you oversee complex tax matters, including estate implications and regulatory updates. Your leadership develops staff while ensuring timely, accurate results for multi-engagement portfolios. This role combines technical tax expertise with business insight to help clients optimize tax positions and align with objectives.
Responsibilities- Act as main client contact and maintain strong relationships through clear communication
- Conduct final-level review of tax returns, documentation, and technical issues within a real estate portfolio
- Address client and taxing authority inquiries while offering strategic tax guidance
- Design forward-looking tax planning strategies aligned with client objectives
- Interpret estate planning instruments to assess tax implications
- Evaluate client-provided financial data to optimize tax positions and reporting
- Monitor regulatory developments to keep advice current
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Lead staff development through supervision, mentoring, and review
- Manage multiple engagements and keep senior leadership informed of progress and issues
Key requirements- Bachelor in Tax or Accounting
- 10+ years of tax consulting/compliance experience in public accounting
- 2+ years in a managerial role
- Experience working with real estate clients
- Solid understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to manage client relationships
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
