Sr Technical Designer - Joe's Jeans

Overview

In this role you will own the technical design process for Joe's Jeans, maintaining established fits and evolving specs for new fabrics across seasons. You will collaborate with design, product development, and overseas vendors to ensure accurate fit, construction details, and timely delivery. You'll lead fittings, craft precise comments, and drive clear communication to keep projects on track. This position combines technical rigor with cross-functional partnering in a fast-paced fashion environment. You help shape product quality and fit, contributing to Centric Brands' leadership in denim and sophisticated classics.

Responsibilities
  • Spec garments precisely using POMs and current body blocks
  • Log and track samples via fit lists for the category
  • Prepare and evaluate samples, ensuring previous feedback is implemented
  • Lead fittings with historical context and accurate execution of comments
  • Write clear vendor-facing comments to convey design direction
  • Manage fit stages and impact on seasonal deliveries and deadlines
  • Coordinate daily with cross-functional teams and overseas vendors
  • Create initial specs (measurements, construction details, technical sketches) to preserve aesthetic
  • Collaborate with Design and related teams to align fit priorities with timelines
Key requirements
  • Basic garment construction and techniques understanding
  • Basic pattern understanding and how it relates to fit and comment assessment
  • Ability to accurately spec garments
  • Strong attention to detail and knowledge of inner components
  • Efficient multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Team-oriented and proactive problem solver
  • Experience in Technical Design, Pattern Making or Design (5-7 years)
  • Proficiency in Excel/Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with industry software such as web-based t/p systems
  • Hands-on sewing knowledge or basic Gerber experience
