Overview

In this role you lead field construction activities to ensure on-time home delivery and high-quality workmanship. You work across trade partners and internal teams to maintain schedule, safety, and customer satisfaction while solving plan conflicts and improving processes. You will collaborate with sales and product teams to uphold standards and drive a safe, efficient build. This is a hands-on position at a major homebuilder known for fostering growth and inclusion, offering meaningful impact across communities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee scheduling and supervision of daily trade partner activities and assess quality and efficiency of their work
  • Review and modify construction drawings when plan errors or conflicts arise
  • Evaluate project schedules and adjust resources to meet project needs and deadlines
  • Ensure homes are completed on schedule, with contract obligations and safety protocols met
  • Stop work that is noncompliant with plans, specifications, or codes
  • Manage customer experience throughout construction with regular communications and issue resolution
  • Coordinate with Community Sales to manage community performance and customer activities
  • Conduct daily site inspections to verify safety and SWPPP compliance, taking action as needed
  • Negotiate, create, and authorize field purchase orders for materials and labor
  • Inspect trade partner workmanship and authorize payments when standards are met
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Process Improvement, Resource Planning, and Purchasing to address plan quality, schedule adherence, trade performance, and budget issues
  • Evaluate work to ensure compliance with building codes and company workmanship standards
  • Participate in trade partner recruiting and vetting
  • Other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Construction processes in a high-production environment
  • Ability to direct and manage trade performance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of municipal permitting and regulations
  • Knowledge of building codes
  • Experience with construction-related scheduling software
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to control cost overruns and manage a budget
  • Valid driver's license
