Responsibilities- Define and execute the enterprise data science roadmap aligned to strategy and measurable value opportunities
- Establish intake and prioritization with value, feasibility, data readiness, risk, capacity, and time-to-impact
- Manage portfolio visibility, ownership, success metrics, dependencies, and retirement criteria
- Recommend staffing, funding, and build-vs-buy decisions for analytics capabilities
- Set standards for model development, experimentation, validation, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- Select appropriate analytical methods (ML, optimization, GenAI, etc.) and develop predictive, prescriptive, and decision-support capabilities
- Lead evaluation design for generative/agentic AI, including safety, groundedness, and operational fit
- Define interfaces, deployment requirements, monitoring and service levels with AI Engineering and Product
- Ensure reusability, interpretability, governance, and human oversight in analytical capabilities
- Define pre/post-deployment evaluation frameworks covering value, safety, fairness, and outcomes
- Lead experimental design, causal inference, A/B testing, and impact evaluation
- Establish success criteria, monitoring, bias, drift, adoption, and cost measures
- Document model inventory, validation evidence, monitoring thresholds, and retirement plans
- Collaborate with clinical leaders on care-delivery implications and approvals
- Translate problems into analytical opportunities and define cross-functional delivery plans
- Communicate strategy, risks, and value to executives and stakeholders
- Build and lead a high-performing team and manage the function budget and partnerships
Key requirements- 12+ years in data science, advanced analytics, or related fields
- 5+ years of leadership experience directing data science or analytics teams
- Experience moving analytics from discovery to production with measurable impact
- Strong ability to define value hypotheses, adoption plans, and post-launch reviews
- Healthcare or regulated-industry experience preferred
- Executive communication skills for strategy and investment recommendations
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred
- Experience with data governance, privacy, and security considerations in healthcare
