Overview

As Plant Engineering Manager II at Leprino, you'll lead the Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable plant operations and drive capital programs. You'll shape multi-year plans, coordinate with Production on maintenance and support, and create clear documentation and training for new systems. You'll champion safety, regulatory compliance, and food safety while mentoring leaders across the team. Responsibilities
  • Lead Engineering and Maintenance teams to support safe, reliable plant operations
  • Plan, oversee and document capital projects (facility construction, equipment upgrades, energy improvements)
  • Prepare annual engineering budget and multi-year capital programs
  • Coordinate with Production to adjust maintenance schedules and provide engineering support
  • Create operating procedures, project documentation, and training materials for new/upgraded systems
  • Lead safety efforts within Engineering and Maintenance and ensure safe practices
  • Ensure tools, training, and equipment are available for safe, accurate work
  • Foster collaboration and transparency across plant teams
  • Monitor capital spending and report progress to plant leadership
  • Interface with local, state, and federal agencies for permits and compliance
  • Support food safety and sanitation through improved processes
  • Mentor supervisors and managers for development and growth
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 12+ years of experience in food manufacturing
  • 5+ years of progressive people leadership experience
  • Proficiency with standard computer tools and ability to learn SAP or similar manufacturing systems
  • Prior leadership experience guiding plant Maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment
