Overview In this role you will lead a Family Office accounting practice, guiding a team to deliver high-quality financial reporting and client service. You will optimize resources, mentor staff, and build trusted client relationships while driving process improvements. You'll handle complex engagements and coordinate across departments to ensure seamless onboarding and growth. Responsibilities- Own client engagements end-to-end, including deadlines, deliverables, and issue resolution
- Lead and direct a pod of Managers and staff with clear priorities and accountability
- Train and coach team on processes, reporting, systems, and quality standards
- Plan and coordinate monthly finance and accounting services to ensure client-ready results
- Serve as Family Office accounting subject matter expert on US GAAP and complex matters
- Perform quality reviews of financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, and workpapers
- Identify gaps or training needs early and drive corrective actions
- Build repeatable processes, checklists, calendars, and review procedures for consistency
- Liaise between clients, external auditors, internal stakeholders, and service providers
- Support onboarding of new clients, including resource planning and training
- Support business development through prospect meetings and engagement letters
- Lead complex Single Family Office engagements with multi-entity structures and investment entities
- Drive accurate investment accounting across assets and reconciliation activities
- Oversee entity ownership changes, trusts, and trust financial reporting
- Use Sage Intacct and Addepar for reporting to improve efficiency and transparency
- Create structured processes and training to meet family office quality standards
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience (public and industry)
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment
- Full-cycle accounting experience including financial reporting, A/P, A/R, and reconciliations with strong US GAAP knowledge
- Strong knowledge of SFO structures, entity transfers, and investment accounting across asset classes
- Experience with brokerage postings, capital statements, and reconciliation techniques
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems, including Sage Intacct
- Familiarity with investment reporting systems (e.g., Addepar)
- Familiarity with equity management, fund accounting, intercompany accounting, and trust financials
- Preferred CPA or CMA license
- Experience with cloud-based accounting system conversions
