Overview As Director of Community Corrections, you will steer strategic direction for probation, parole, and residential services to enhance safety and rehabilitation. You will work closely with the County Leadership Team to align programs with laws, standards, and community needs. You lead through unions and partner organizations, fostering evidence-based practices and staff development. You drive performance, transparency, and collaborative culture to deliver meaningful outcomes for residents and communities. This role offers visible leadership with a focus on impact, partnerships, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership, direction, and strategic planning for all Community Corrections functions and ensure alignment with County priorities
- Oversee probation, parole, residential services, victim services, and related programs with emphasis on fairness and evidence-based practice
- Manage department operations, budgeting, staffing, and resources with accountability
- Foster a collaborative work culture prioritizing communication, belonging, and professional growth
- Represent the department to County leadership, justice partners, and the community with professionalism and strong relationship-building
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards affecting corrections and public safety
- Navigate labor-management relations effectively within a unionized environment
- Lead hiring, training, coaching, and organizational change across the department
Key requirements- Deep knowledge of community corrections systems (probation, parole, residential services) and evidence-based approaches
- Experience in supervision, coaching, performance management, and workforce development
