Overview

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you guide structural design for diverse building projects and lead a team to produce construction documents in Revit. You collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated building solutions and contribute to planning, budgets, and proposals. You mentor junior staff, uphold technical standards, and support business development in Colorado. You thrive on complex challenges, adapting to varied codes, and advancing sustainable design.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design of structural systems from concept to construction
  • Head a team of junior engineers and produce construction documents in Revit
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and proposals with the regional discipline leader
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineers in an integrated design process
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and participate in O/A/C meetings with contractors
  • Mentor entry-level staff and promote technical standards across the practice
  • Support the Colorado Structural Engineering discipline operations and execution
  • Assist with RFPs, project interviews, and community/industry engagement to build the DLR Group brand
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering
  • 10+ years of building-related structural engineering experience (concrete, masonry, steel, wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in California or SE license preferred
  • Experience leading teams of engineers
  • Proficiency in structural software ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc
  • Experience with BIM and Autodesk Revit
  • Strong problem-solving, creativity, and attention to detail
  • Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Commitment to sustainable design and SE2050
