Overview As a Scientist in Experimental Plasma Physics, you will develop and oversee diagnostic systems for radiation and fast ion physics on the C-2W device. You will collaborate with engineering teams to implement detectors, plan experiments, and analyze data to advance fusion diagnostics and plasma science. You will document findings for internal and external audiences while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards. Responsibilities- Develop and refine fast ion, radiation, and plasma diagnostics techniques
- Collaborate with engineering on detector systems, optical setups, and vacuum hardware
- Plan and execute experiments on the C-2W fusion device
- Analyze experimental data with modeling and simulation tools
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for reviews and conferences
- Contribute to design and testing of new or upgraded diagnostics
- Maintain laboratory infrastructure and follow safety protocols

Key requirements- 2-5 years post-PhD experience in experimental plasma physics with a focus on radiation and fast ion diagnostics or related fusion diagnostics
- Proficiency with plasma diagnostic instrumentation, optical systems, and high-vacuum systems
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining diagnostics on plasma devices
- Familiarity with fusion diagnostics and radiation safety protocols
- Experience with data analysis using Python or similar tools
- Working knowledge of plasma behavior simulation tools
- Experience with project collaboration and document management platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication for multidisciplinary collaboration
