Tax Manager - Gift, Trust & Estate Tax

Overview

As a Tax Manager at Eide Bailly, you will guide clients through wealth transfer and estate planning, collaborating with the Wealth Transition Services team. You'll interpret legal documents, conduct technical research, and ensure tax-efficient strategies for individuals and estates. You'll manage client relationships, contribute to marketing and training, and oversee the preparation of gift, estate, and fiduciary tax returns. This role combines client impact with mentoring staff and driving value in a collaborative, growth-minded firm.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and review estate and business succession documents
  • Perform technical research on estate planning and compliance
  • Assist clients with varying levels of estate planning knowledge
  • Analyze tax situations from multiple angles to maximize benefits
  • Implement planning processes based on cash flow, income distribution, and estate flow
  • Manage client relationships and proactively add value to the experience
  • Assist in marketing materials and internal/external trainings
  • Prepare and review gift, estate, and fiduciary tax returns
  • Oversee staff to meet deadlines and firm processes
  • Coach and mentor staff; participate in business development activities
  • Collaborate on projects with Wealth Transition Services team
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent certification
  • 5+ years in public accounting or related field with focus on individual clients and corporate trusts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expertise in transfer tax and estate planning
  • Experience with flow-through entities and private foundations
  • Strong multi-tasking and deadline management abilities
  • Experience in business development and networking
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
