Overview In this role you will lead the Horseheads, NY site operations, owning end-to-end performance including safety, quality, delivery, and financial results. You will drive a culture of strict quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in a regulated market. You will align the operations leadership with corporate objectives, delivering high-quality products on time while optimizing throughput and cost. This is a high-impact role that shapes manufacturing capabilities, capacity planning, and cross-functional collaboration to meet customer needs in nuclear I&C and propulsion sectors.
Responsibilities- Lead site operations with end-to-end accountability for performance in Nuclear I&C product lines
- Define and communicate site vision and operational objectives
- Manage financial performance including revenue recognition, cost, working capital, and cash flow
- Act as principal safety agent and ensure safe work culture
- Own backlog management and delivery commitments with recovery plans
- Oversee multi-phase capacity and capability investments and new manufacturing capabilities
- Set and meet production budgets, schedules, and standards
- Implement continuous improvement and lean methodologies across operations
- Oversee inventory management aligned with sales and financial goals
- Drive sourcing to ensure cost-efficient materials and meet inventory targets
- Lead HR initiatives to motivate workforce and promote a culture of quality
- Communicate with stakeholders through quarterly Town Hall meetings
- Ensure compliance with policies and ethical standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain high customer service and business efficiency
- Support capital expenditures decisions within guidelines
- Lead and develop facilities, manufacturing, engineering, planning, procurement, and quality teams
- Engage with union relations and labor policies to minimize grievances
- Develop staffing plans and manage overhead budgets
- Ensure adherence to government contracting requirements
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of applicable manufacturing operations experience
- Lean Six Sigma certification highly desired but not required
- Experience with government contracting or regulated industries preferred
- Strong leadership with ability to drive cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage backlog, capacity, and delivery commitments
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management, MRP, and inventory management (implied)
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and inventory/warehouse management software
