Overview In this role you lead hands-on manufacturing improvements, applying LEAN methods to boost efficiency, quality, and profitability. You will translate production and customer needs into design specs, manage projects end-to-end, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-effective solutions. You'll work closely with operators, vendors, and management to drive capital projects and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on, design-and-build position with a clear impact on production performance.
Responsibilities- Lead manufacturing process improvements using LEAN methodologies
- Interpret requirements and develop design specifications from production and customer needs
- Manage full project lifecycle from requirements to implementation within budget
- Identify solutions to improve efficiency, margins, and quality
- Work hands-on with equipment and tooling design using SolidWorks
- Maintain ISO-compliant records and documentation
- Assess manufacturability of prototypes and collaborate with design engineering
- Estimate costs, obtain quotes, and justify capital investments
- Coordinate with vendors, production, quality, materials, and management
- Present progress to senior management and secure funding
- Ensure OSHA and safety requirements are observed
- Support operators to ensure product quality on the floor

Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 12-15 years of experience
- SolidWorks proficiency
- Hands-on, non-desk oriented work style
- Experience with manufacturing equipment (presses, mixers, CNC/grind, lathes)
- Understanding of ISO requirements and documentation
- Cost estimation and budgeting for new designs
- Experience with vendor management and cross-functional collaboration
- Safety compliance experience (OSHA)
- Chemical Engineering concepts are a plus
