Overview As Global ULD Program Lead, you will shape Atlas Air's strategic ULD program across 24/7 operations, ensuring availability, compliance, and cost efficiency. You will partner with multiple functions to optimize asset performance, procurement, and maintenance, while driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. You will lead a cross-functional team to deliver reliable, safe operations and stakeholder-focused service. Responsibilities- Lead the global 24/7 ULD operation to support worldwide flight operations
- Develop and execute the global ULD strategy to optimize availability, utilization, service levels, and TCO
- Oversee allocation, tracking, recovery, and inventory control of ULDs and related equipment
- Manage annual operating and capital budgets; identify cost-reduction opportunities
- Lead ULD procurement with Procurement; supplier selection, vendor negotiations, and distribution of new equipment
- Set and govern performance standards, KPIs, SLAs, and governance with suppliers, repair vendors, and Ground Handling Agents
- Ensure compliance with FAA, international aviation, and company requirements for ULD activities
- Maintain/improve the ULD repair program with vendor oversight and regulatory compliance
- Lead tracking, inventory, and analytical system improvements; use data to forecast and plan
- Provide operational and financial reporting to senior leadership; drive process improvements
- Develop and mentor the ULD logistics team; foster collaboration and accountability
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders; ensure adherence to procedures
- Serve as senior escalation point for major ULD-related issues
- Incorporate ULD requirements into operational planning and adapt to changing needs
- Maintain knowledge of industry practices and represent Atlas Air at forums
- Other projects as assigned by VP Ground Operations and Director Ground Operations Logistics
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (preferred; equivalent experience considered)
- Minimum 10 years in aviation/logistics/supply chain, with at least 5 years in ULD-related work
- Experience leading global or geographically dispersed operations in a 24/7 environment
- Strong knowledge of ULD operations, asset management, repair, maintenance, and regulatory requirements
- Experience working with Ground Handling Agents, suppliers, repair organizations, and external partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to develop KPIs and leverage data for decisions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data-analysis tools
- Experience with ULD or cargo-management systems such as Veoci, AIMS, SABLE, CargoSpot, or comparable platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication across all organization levels
- Ability to make timely decisions and manage competing priorities in high-pressure settings
- Strong leadership, collaboration, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Ability to support a 24/7 global operation, including after-hours availability
