Oncology Medical Science Liaison/Sr Medical Science Liaison (GI) - MN/IA/NE/ND/SD

In this MSL role, you advance AstraZeneca's oncology mission by serving as the local medical voice and strategy lead within your territory. You'll build relationships with clinicians, hospitals, and other stakeholders to improve patient care and inform R&D with real-world insights. You'll translate complex data into balanced medical information and support cross-functional teams in prioritizing patient outcomes. This is a high-impact, field-based position that shapes scientific dialogue and helps drive strategic initiatives in oncology.

• Develop a tailored local medical strategy aligned with AZ USMA priorities and regional patient needs
• Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists, urologists, and MDT members
• Engage in peer-to-peer scientific/medical discussions and gather treatment landscape insights
• Communicate internally insights and proposed actions to improve patient care
• Discuss data with KOLs to address educational gaps and inform R&D strategy
• Summarize clinical data into accurate, concise information for diverse audiences
• Stay current with marketed and emerging products, healthcare trends, and disease biology
• Collaborate with Clin Ops on Ph3 trial feasibility and execution
• Discuss and follow-up on ESRs (epidemiology, safety, and other studies)
• Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences
• Travel 40-60% for field-based engagement
• Support the local medical strategy for multiple sites within the territory (MN, IA, NE, ND & SD)
• Operate within a matrixed environment to achieve goals

• Advanced scientific degree or equivalent (e.g., PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP)
• 2+ years of MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experience
• Demonstrated ability to discuss scientific content with multiple audiences
• Strong written and verbal communication; concise information conveyance
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Experience navigating a matrixed environment
• Solid understanding of clinical study design, protocols, and regulatory environment
• Excellent project management skills
• Willingness to travel extensively (40-60%)
