Senior Consultant- CDBG-DR

Overview

In this role you will support CDBG-DR consulting engagements across planning, execution, and delivery, helping clients maintain compliance with HUD and federal regulations. You will contribute to disaster recovery program design, eligibility analyses, and policy development, working with state or local grantees. The position blends regulatory interpretation with program design and business development in a cross-functional government services context. You will engage with clients to ensure timely deliverables and impactful outcomes, with opportunities to travel or work remotely. This role offers visibility into large federal programs and the chance to shape how agencies recover and report.

Responsibilities
  • Support CDBG-DR consulting engagements from planning to delivery
  • Ensure compliance with 2 CFR 200, 24 CFR 570, Universal Notice, Stafford Act, and related regulations
  • Assist in designing and implementing disaster recovery programs meeting eligibility and National Objective requirements
  • Leverage experience to inform program implementation and design decisions
  • Draft or evaluate grantee Action Plan Amendments for regulatory compliance
  • Develop policies and procedures aligned with regulations and grantee Action Plans
  • Ensure timely, accurate client deliverables
  • Engage in business development activities including responding to proposals and identifying funding opportunities
  • Occasionally work extended hours and travel to other offices or client sites
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of CDBG-DR grant management experience in compliance or policy roles
  • Strong policy background with 2 CFR 200 and 24 CFR 570 compliance knowledge
  • Experience with pre-award, post-award, and closeout processes (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
