Overview In this staff-level role, you'll lead mechanical and systems work to configure deployable solar arrays for new business pursuits. You'll bridge engineering and business development to define requirements, architectures, and collaborations with suppliers and customers. The position blends hands-on design with strategic growth activities to expand Redwire's solar array offerings. You will work across cross-functional teams to deliver high quality, mission critical power systems for space missions. Responsibilities- Technical leadership for new solar array business pursuits under the Advanced Programs Engineering Manager
- Design solar array configurations including CAD models and power system sizing
- Collaborate with structural analysis to meet customer needs and produce proposal volumes
- Review and influence customer requirements; develop SOWs, SDILs, and verification matrices
- Serve as the technical lead for subcontractors (cell suppliers, composites manufacturers) and coordinate with supply chain
- Contribute to marketing and sales strategies and participate in IRAD or developmental projects
- Collaborate with engineering teams to stay current on product designs and market needs
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 2+ years on spacecraft structures or mechanisms
- Experience with CAD software
- Experience with Space Solar Array power analysis
- Prior mechanical design experience
- US citizen or eligible to work in the US (visa sponsorship not accepted) or US citizen if applicable
