Tax Manager - Mutual Funds

As a Tax Manager, you will deliver tax compliance and consulting services to investment management clients, leading engagements and mentoring staff. You'll perform tax research, RIC-related work papers, and prepare or review federal/state returns and excise calculations, while ensuring tax disclosures and compliance tests. You'll mentor teams, take on lead client contact roles, and participate in sales and training initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of technical tax work and client leadership in a fast-paced environment.

• Provide tax compliance and consulting services to Investment Management clients
• Manage day-to-day engagement delivery and bring in specialists when needed
• Conduct tax research and prepare RIC-related work papers, financial statement provisions, and tax disclosures
• Prepare or review federal/state returns and excise calculations; conduct RIC compliance tests
• Mentor, supervise, and train Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors; assume lead client contact roles
• Contribute to sales and marketing activities; participate in required trainings; lead engagement-specific and national trainings

• 5+ years of experience in tax planning or preparing/reviewing client work papers and income tax returns
• Active CPA or an equivalent credential (Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, CFA, CFP)
• Demonstrated advanced understanding of Subchapter M, financial products, and book-to-tax adjustments for RICs
• Basic understanding of Subchapter K and investment partnership taxation
• Ability to work in a hybrid model (2-3 days in person) and travel up to 25%
