Overview In this role you will provide strategic and operational HR leadership for a fast-paced hospital. You will partner with executive leadership to shape workforce strategy, employee relations, and compliance while maintaining a strong HR presence across the organization. You drive onboarding, retention, and engagement initiatives to stabilize the workforce and support organizational success. The position offers meaningful impact in a teaching hospital with a community focus, quality care, and HFAP/Joint Commission readiness. You will lead and develop the local HR team to build organizational capability.
Responsibilities- Lead employee relations activities (investigations, conflict resolution, grievance management, disciplinary actions)
- Partner with executive leadership on organizational changes and HR implications of operational decisions
- Drive onboarding, orientation, and integration initiatives to improve retention and engagement
- Develop and implement retention strategies focused on engagement, culture, and workforce development
- Analyze workforce metrics (turnover, overtime, FTE utilization, labor trends) to drive improvements
- Administer employee programs and HR services to support satisfaction and success
- Serve as trusted advisor on labor relations, compliance, workforce planning, and organizational development with corporate HR support
- Lead, develop, and mentor the local HR team and promote cross-training
- Ensure personnel files, documentation, and HR processes are compliant and audit-ready (HFAP readiness)
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
- 3 years of related healthcare experience
- Familiar with hospital operations, labor market, wage and hour laws, and ERISA guidelines preferred
