Overview As Market Development Specialist at K&L Gates, you drive marketing and business development programs for practice groups and offices across multiple locations. You'll translate strategic directives into actionable initiatives, coordinating materials, client proposals, and events with a cross-functional team. You'll work closely with lawyers and managers to support client development and market positioning. This role offers meaningful impact in shaping client-facing communications and marketing efforts within a globally connected law firm.

Responsibilities- Assist practice groups and lawyers with marketing, business and client development projects and provide marketing support
- Coordinate production and assembly of customized marketing packages and promotional materials
- Create and deliver client-focused proposals, qualifications and presentation materials in response to RFPs and opportunities
- Draft, edit and proof materials such as collateral, slide decks, letters, invitations, and bios
- Maintain practice group contact lists in the CRM database and update experience lists
- Prepare competitive intelligence and marketing research reports using firm tools
- Coordinate articles, newsletters, and other marketing communications
- Organize practice/industry group events including logistics and follow-up
- Track business development activities in the proposal tracking system
- Support public relations and trade association memberships
- Participate in firmwide marketing initiatives and special projects
- Collaborate with Business Development Coordinators and supervise assigned tasks
- Engage in outside conferences and hold trade association memberships
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to produce proposals and client-facing materials
- Strong interpersonal skills and service orientation
- Ability to interact with sophisticated clients and internal stakeholders
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel; good internet research skills; knowledge of InterAction CRM is a plus
- Good judgment, decision-making and follow-through
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail, flexibility, creativity; team player with ability to work independently
- Mobility within the office and ability to handle confidential issues
