Overview As a member of the Primary Systems Integration & Optimization unit, you help mature submarine propulsion concepts into implementable designs. You will integrate cross-disciplinary design work and consider operations perspectives to guide technology development and design decisions. The role supports sustainable, cost-conscious plant designs while aligning with NNLP goals of safety and reliability. You will work closely with engineers and operators to shape next-generation naval systems.

Responsibilities- Define and evaluate system, component, and plant designs
- Define concepts of operations and assess design trade-offs
- Guide technology development needs and design decisions
- Coordinate integration across mechanical, electrical, I&C, reactor design, and component engineering
- Incorporate operators' perspective into design and development processes
Key requirements- Bachelor in Engineering or related technical field with 6+ years of experience; or Master in related field with 4+ years; or Doctorate with 1+ year
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Interpersonal skills and leadership for cross-disciplinary coordination
- Ability to articulate technical information clearly and concisely
- Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program plant systems design experience (preferred)
- Operations experience within NNPP (shipboard, prototype plant, RPCO construction/test)
- Ability to analyze designs and operations to inform technology development and decision-making
