Overview In this role you will lead CRB's accounting team to deliver accurate financial reporting, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive process improvements. You'll partner with business leaders and finance partners to analyze performance and support strategic decision-making. The position offers a hybrid work setup in Kansas City and a focus on developing a high-performing team. You will shape cross-functional collaboration, uphold internal controls, and enable scalable, efficient finance operations.
Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Oversee daily accounting operations (AP, AR, project accounting, GL)
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team through performance reviews and career plans
- Provide training and foster a culture of continuous learning
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes including journal entries
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements; partner with business units for insights
- Review reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to boost efficiency and data accuracy
- Support external audits, tax engagements, and system implementations
- Ensure regulatory compliance, internal controls, and accounting policies
- Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to analyze budget and forecast variances
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (public or private)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Demonstrated leadership and staff development experience
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%)
