Overview In this role you will lead planning and execution of water and wastewater conveyance projects, shaping future-ready solutions for clients. Responsibilities- Design water transmission and distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, and perform master planning
- Serve as task lead on water/wastewater facilities projects within multidisciplinary teams
- Oversee junior design teams, manage scope, schedule, and budgets, and build client and team relationships
- Manage project design tasks, permitting, and construction coordination; provide guidance to junior staff
- Uphold QC standards for design deliverables, analysis, and reporting
- Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects
- Contribute to technical reports and presentations
- Coordinate, review, and approve infrastructure design plans ensuring compliance with codes and regulations
- Stay current with latest water resources engineering techniques
- Exercise ethical decision-making regarding funds, resources, and conduct
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed by business needs
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with focus in Water Resources or related discipline
- 7 to 10 years of post-education experience in water resources engineering
- Professional Engineering license
- Proficiency in design of water/wastewater/storm water pump stations (pump selection, sizing, hydraulics) and integration with mechanical/electrical/structure components
- Proficiency in potable transmission mains, sewer trunk mains, distribution, and collection systems design with hydraulic analysis
- Familiarity with condition assessment and pipeline rehabilitation; NASSCO familiarity
- Ability to work with Civil 3D; working knowledge of WaterCAD, SewerCad, OpenRoads Designer, Bentley HAMMER, InfoWater, InfoSewer
- Familiarity with AWWA Manuals and Standards (M11, M23, M28, M41, M77) and related water main design standards
- Strong technical computation skills and understanding of plans/specs/constructability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences
- Self-leadership, attention to detail, multi-tasking, prioritization in dynamic environments
- Ability to work independently and lead junior team members with QA/QC discipline
- Active involvement in local/national professional associations (AWWA, WEF)
- Interest in client service with potential for project management and client-facing roles
- Preferred Qualifications: PMP Certification, NASSCO Certification, People leadership, Business development experience
