Overview

Lead and advance Mayo Clinic's pharmacy education and academic affairs, directing staff development, experiential training, residency programs, and onboarding while ensuring ACPE continuing education and adherence to accreditation standards. You will align educational initiatives with the department's and institution's strategic goals and actively contribute to new knowledge in pharmacy practice. This role demands visible, values-driven leadership and collaboration across teams to shape high-impact education and practice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, oversight and direction of pharmacy staff development and educational activities
  • Oversee pharmacy student experiential training programs (internships, APPEs) and post-graduate residency training programs
  • Manage new employee orientation and staff competency training
  • Ensure continued availability and provision of ACPE continuing pharmacy education
  • Ensure compliance with quality, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Align education initiatives with departmental and institutional strategic vision and priorities
  • Promote educational activities and generation of new knowledge in pharmacy practice
Key requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • PharmD degree (or Pharmacy BS degree if graduated before 2000)
  • Completion of an accredited PGY2 residency with at least 1 year of applicable experience, or PGY1 with at least 3 years of experience, or at least 5 years of applicable experience
  • Proven commitment to pharmacy education and leadership in education
  • Project management and coordination skills
  • Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
  • Proven team collaboration and effective communication
  • License to practice Pharmacy in the state of the job location
  • Requirements must be met by employment start date
