Director - Private Markets Accounting

Overview

In this role, you lead fund administration services for private markets and oversee client onboarding. You will coordinate audits, prepare financial statements, and manage reporting calendars to ensure accurate, timely deliverables. You'll work closely with clients and auditors to maintain compliant financials across GAAP/IFRS and various fund structures. This is a cross functional, client facing leadership position that shapes how our private equity client base scales and performs.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee teams delivering fund administration services to clients
  • Manage client implementation and onboarding
  • Plan and oversee preparation of audited and unaudited financial statements and related work papers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of accounting and manage the fund audit process
  • Develop and maintain internal Private Equity business reporting calendar
  • Review client deliverables (gains/losses, fees, allocations, data, capital)
  • Review and maintain ledgers and trial balances for multiple fund clients per accounting standards
  • Aggregate, maintain and reconcile key business and client metrics
  • Develop/maintain robust review procedures around deliverables
  • Manage year-end audit process with client and auditors
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (unknown specifics)
  • 9+ years in accounting with Private Equity/Real Asset funds focus
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and other accounting bases with emphasis on investment partnerships
  • Experience with Consolidated Financial Statements and Minority Interest required
  • Excellent client relationship and project management skills
  • Leadership, training, delegation and work review experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; advanced Excel skills
