Overview

In this role you will advance advertising experiences on Amazon Devices by building scalable ML solutions for display and video ads. You'll work within the EDGE Ads team to improve relevance, coverage, CTR and sign-ups, shaping next-gen conversational and agentic AI ads. You collaborate with product managers and engineers to deploy models that positively impact advertising revenue across devices worldwide. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that blends research, production, and strategic roadmap work to deliver measurable impact.

Responsibilities
  • Understand the customer lifecycle and develop models to optimize conversion KPIs
  • Build scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform data from Retail, Prime Video, FireTV, Alexa+ and AppStore
  • Develop, validate, and deploy ML models in production in collaboration with PMs and engineers
  • Drive team innovation and align science roadmaps with other scientists and engineers
  • Establish automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development and serving
  • Stay current with ML/NLP/knowledge representation and apply to Advertising use cases
  • Contribute to agentic AI for ads: autonomous agents, multi-agent orchestration, planning, large multimodal models, RL and sequential decision making
  • Communicate complex science problems to both technical and non-technical audiences
Key requirements
  • 5+ years building ML models for business applications
  • PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, Python or related languages
  • Experience with speech recognition, NLP systems, or related commercial/government speech projects
  • Effective communication to diverse audiences
  • Cross-functional collaboration with PMs, engineers and leadership
  • Ability to guide teams through high-ambiguity problems
  • Speech recognition and natural language processing
  • Knowledge representation and multi-modal learning
  • Large language and multimodal models
