Overview As a Control Systems Engineer, you design, implement and validate embedded control features for Caterpillar's electrohydraulic systems, enabling precise motion and automation. You will collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to specify requirements and deliver robust software components using model-based methods. The role centers on AUTOSAR-aligned architectures, Simulink-based development, and rigorous testing across MIL/SIL/HIL, including on-machine validation. Responsibilities- Gather and specify product and system requirements for control systems
- Design and implement embedded control features meeting functional and system requirements
- Lead software component delivery with emphasis on quality assurance
- Conduct rigorous testing and debugging using MIL/SIL/HIL and on-machine methods
- Collaborate with clients and partner teams for post-production support
- Support architectural initiatives like Autosar, modularity, and reuse
Key requirements- Experience with requirements analysis, software specification, and workflow management
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems for machine control
- Proficiency in software testing methods (MIL/SIL/HIL)
- Experience with AUTOSAR and generating AUTOSAR-compliant code from Simulink
- Familiarity with testing tools Vector Network Interfaces, CANape, CANalyzer
- Working knowledge of machine systems (power, drivetrains, implements)
- Ability to lead and mentor engineers on a software team
- Demonstrated delivery of real-time embedded control software using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
