Overview As an oncology-focused Medical Science Liaison, you will serve as a field-based scientific expert, partnering with KOLs and HCPs to exchange knowledge on the client's oncology pipeline. You'll build compliant scientific relationships, support clinical trials, and contribute to value-driven discussions with payers and institutions. Your work spans advisory boards, congress outreach, and cross-functional collaboration to translate science into patient impact. This role offers a chance to influence treatment pathways and collaborate with top cancer experts in a global bioscience environment.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary medical contact in the geographic area
- Maintain oncology clinical expertise with focus on locally advanced prostate cancer and solid tumors
- Lead scientific peer-to-peer exchanges about the client's pipeline
- Develop and track KOL engagement plans and long-term relationships
- Engage with medical and scientific communities including advisory boards
- Manage territory development and respond to clinical program requests
- Collaborate with R&D to support trials and investigator sites
- Conduct pre-launch KOL profiling and account/institution profiling
- Work with commercial teams to align product strategy in accounts
- Respond to unsolicited information requests on clinical initiatives
- Provide medical input to internal teams and assist with IIST proposals
- Represent the client at medical meetings and prepare internal congress reports
- Adhere to SOPs and regulatory guidelines for scientific interactions
- Maintain high standard of territory management and contribute to team success
- Be willing to contribute beyond geographic borders
- Possess deep clinical data understanding to discuss science, outcomes, and value with payers and formulary bodies
- Provide training and clinical input to internal teams as needed
Key requirements- Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, or NP/PA)
- MSL: minimum 2 years in pharma with at least 1 year in oncology/immunology
- Sr. MSL: minimum 5 years pharma with 3 years in rare disease/oncology; genitourinary oncology preferred
- Proven ability to present complex data to KOLs and payers
- Working knowledge of prostate cancer standards of care
- Experience sharing scientific content with payer systems is desirable
- Familiarity with NCCN Guidelines, NCI Cooperative Groups, and Oncology Research Consortiums
- Ability to present data to payors and formulary committees
