Overview

As a Structural Project Engineer, you independently handle small projects and support larger efforts under a Senior Structural Engineer. You select and specify engineered systems, perform standard calculations, and ensure project delivery within scope and budget. You'll collaborate with architects, interiors, and other engineers while contributing to design standards and construction administration. This role offers impact through sustainable design and cross-functional teamwork in a global engineering practice.

Responsibilities
  • Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projects
  • Develop job-specific specifications for less complex projects
  • Coordinate with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Conduct Construction Administration tasks including field observations, RFIs, submittals, and change orders evaluation
  • Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
  • Communicate design issues and solutions with design team and Owner clients
  • Understand industry standard design processes and construction means/methods
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high client service
  • Assist with development of design standards
Key requirements
  • Requisite knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and building codes
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means/methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication to diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to check others' work for accuracy and manage time to meet budget/schedule
  • Strong organizational skills; capable of independent and collaborative work
  • Participation and collaboration in project teams and creative/critical thinking
  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (required); Master's preferred
  • Professional Engineer license required; Structural Engineer license preferred
  • Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)
  • Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with industry-standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM)
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Willingness for field exposure and occasional travel
