Overview As Kinder Morgan, the role focuses on managing and developing commercial relationships on the Texas Intrastate System to grow value through trading and optimization. You help set strategy for transportation hedges and storage, balancing risk appetite with fundamentals. The position drives collaboration across internal and external stakeholders to create new marketing opportunities and efficiencies. You will mentor staff and help plan for system growth, ensuring sustainable margin improvement. This role offers the chance to shape trading strategies in a leading energy infrastructure company.
Responsibilities- Trade gas daily, monthly and term to optimize the Texas Intrastate system and capture spreads
- Use fundamental analysis to determine hedge levels for transportation and storage to maximize revenue
- Establish internal and external relationships to support pipeline operations and marketing opportunities
- Monitor market conditions, developments, and competitor strategies
- Disseminate market intelligence to KM management
- Contribute to business plans, earnings forecasts, and budget for gross margin
- Generate and maintain activity and market trend spreadsheets
- Drive synergies between Intrastate and KM Gas Marketing for value creation
- Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing to grow the Intrastate System and trading strategies
- Develop a team and plan for system growth and succession
Key requirements- Bachelor in Business, Marketing, Finance or Engineering (or significant experience in lieu of degree)
- 7-10 years of progressively responsible industry experience in managing term physical and financial positions for transportation and storage in natural gas
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to establish and maintain good customer relationships
- Experience in customer service, marketing, project coordination and business development desirable
- Texas Intrastate knowledge desirable
