Overview

As a Senior Structural Engineer at WSP, you will lead structural design and assessment for complex building projects within the Property and Buildings Team. You will work on healthcare, higher education, science & technology, Civic, and other markets, focusing on design, seismic considerations, and code compliance. You'll develop drawings, calculations, and reports, guiding projects from investigations to construction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery, and you will mentor junior engineers. This role offers the chance to influence seismic design and rehabilitation in California while contributing to critical infrastructure across多

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of structural drawings, calculation packages, and specifications
  • Analyze data from sites, surveys, geotechnical data to inform design
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, planners, and professionals on project delivery
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visual data representations
  • Ensure QA/QC and compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements
  • Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers
  • Assist in scoping and managing medium-sized projects
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner
  • Stay current with structural engineering techniques and practices
  • Support design and construction administration including rehabilitation and new design projects
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in structural design and seismic strengthening
  • Engineer in Training Certification
  • Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and codes
  • Experience with design and construction administration and rehabilitation projects
  • Strong ability to perform technical computations and interpret plans
  • Project management experience for small to mid-level projects
  • Excellent communication and leadership for junior staff
  • Proficiency with RAM Structures, RAM Concept, ETABS, PERFORM 3D, RISA, CSI SAFE, BIM
  • California Building Code and/or International Building Code familiarity
  • Ability to travel as needed
